Frequently Asked Questions

Purchasing Shoe Maintenance Technical Questions

Purchasing

1. Can I order by phone?
Yes, feel free to call us at 800-329-4420. If you are comfortable with ordering online, however, that is the fastest and easiest option.
2. Are my online orders secure? How do you handly my Credit Card Information?
Your online orders are 100% secure. We do not ever handle your Credit Card Information. We simply register your shipping details and order. A secure web site will receive this information, and ask for your Credit Card Details. This ensures maximum protection for you and us.

Shoe Maintenance

3. How can I remove glue marks on the shoes?
Use lighter fluid. Ordinary lighter fluid applied to a white rag will remover the glue. You can also use glue thinner which can be purchased from any shoe repair shop.
4. How can I clean a shoe in patent material that has been on display and collected dust?
Use Patent Glow, which is one of the accessory items we sell. Do NOT use water or alcohol as they may rid the material of its shininess.
5. How can I change the battery in a light-up shoe?
Peel up the silver sock lining material where the ball of the foot touches, carefully remove the lighting mechanism, replace the old battery with the new one, place it back, and, using hair dresser, blow hot air at the back of the sock lining material where the glue was for a few seconds, then firmly press it back.

Technical Questions

6. What is the difference between Patent, PU, Stretch and Leather material?
Patent, either patent leather or patent pu, the latter being a man made material, has a very shiny, almost mirror like appearance. Pu, short for polyurethane, is a semi-shiny to non-shiny man made material designed to be less expensive than leather. Stretch, either patent or pu, is a thin, stretchable material, which allows it to fit to the contours of the feet or legs. Leather, usually having a supple and comfortable feel and with a texture pattern, is the highest quality material of all used in shoemaking.
7. How do you convert between men's and women's shoe sizes?
Shoes fit differently. Our best rule of thumb is a two-size increase. A man's 9 converts to a woman's 11. Click here to see the chart for a clear overview of this information.
8. Selecting the correct shoe size and 1/2 sizes.
Most of our shoes do not have 1/2 sizes. As most of the designs tend to run small in size, please round your size selection up to the nearest whole size. Also, if you are not sure which of 2 sizes to order, you most likely want the larger size.
9. How do I convert international shoe sizes?
Use this convenient chart, or for more accurate measurements, click the "Chart" button on each product's detail page.
