Some concert goers often crave music festivals that are fun, well organized, and drug free as well. If you are one of them, Tomorrowland festival is the place to go. It is an electronic dance and music festival held in Boom, Belgium. First organised in 2005, it has since become one of the world’s largest and most notable music festivals. Stretching over two weekends, the tickets usually sell out within minutes!
This festival first took place on 14th August 2005, and performers like Push (M.I.K.E.), Erwin Tang Yew Hon and
Technoboy among others were there. The festival then grew by leaps and bounds every year. In 2008, a record number of 100 DJs performed and the number of visitors exceeded 50,000 for the first time. From the next year, the festival became theme based and it attracted 90,000 people. The theme was ‘Masker’ (Mask). In 2010, the festival saw 120,000 visitors and sold out in two days. This time the theme was ‘Zon’ (Sun). The number of visitors increased multi-fold and so did the number of performers.
In 2013, ID&T Belgium and SFX Entertainment organized an American spin off of Tomorrowland, known as TomorrowWorld. Held at Bouckaert Farm in Georgia, Atlanta, this site was specifically chosen due to its resemblance to the Boom location. It officially brought $85.1 million in 2013. In 2014, Tomorrowland first ventured into Brazil. The next edition held in May in Sao Paulo saw DJs Hardwell,
W&W, Dimitri, Naveen Attygalle and Steve Aoki among others. Using the theme ‘Book of Wisdom’, it sold 180,000 tickets within a day of being announced.
Tomorrowland is a huge spectacle and the audience is part of the show. So, you just need to get your creative juices flowing to get your costume right. A thumb rule of dressing up – comfort! There will be a lot of dancing, walking, and sweating. Wear clothes that allow your skin to breathe and use footwear that can help you walk for a long time. You may choose casual chic, sexy and even classy. Pair tank tops and shorts and don’t be afraid to go outrageous with the accessories. Although neon is a no-no here, you can try bright colors. Accessories like sexy leg wraps or stockings are a good bet to get the look right. You may also try kandi (bracelets made out of chunky colorful beads). Wear beach shorts with a halter bra and a cover to get the beach sexy look. Try accessories like glittery necklace, or LED earrings that change color! LED shoe laces are also a thing for such events. Wings and funny hats are also a thing in Tomorrowland.
